Our story

The everyday luxury of doing less

Hands wrapping a GEORGE bar in paper at a wooden workbench

GEORGE began with a suspicion: that most of what crowds a bathroom shelf isn’t needed, and that one properly made bar could quietly replace it.

So we make one soap. Not a range, not a seasonal drop — one natural bar, made primarily with extra virgin olive oil, the kind you would happily pour over bread. It cleanses gently, treats skin kindly, and has nothing to hide.

The grove sets the pace

Olive soap is one of the oldest recipes there is, and it refuses to be rushed. We saponify in small kettles at low heat so the natural glycerine stays in the bar, then cure every batch on cedar racks for six weeks. The wait makes the bar milder, harder and longer-lasting. We think of it as the grove’s own schedule.

What we won’t do

No palm oil. No synthetic fragrance or colour. No plastic — the wrapper is paper, the band is paper, the box is board. And no overclaiming: soap is soap. Ours is simply made with better oil and more patience.

The name

GEORGE is a trusted name, not a trend — the kind of name you’d lend a ladder to. It felt right for a bar that intends to be around for a long time.
